Learn more about aluminium

Aluminium has proven to be most suitable material also for bunks and helpframe parts. Not only because it weights one third compared to steel but it’s also remarkable combination of elasticy and stability.

Aluminium is the third most commonly found basic element in the world after oxygen and silicon. It is found as an oxide in the earth, the air and in water. Up to 8% of the earth's bedrock is aluminium. Aluminium is produced mostly as bauxite found in unlimited quantities in the earths bedrock. Continual earth movements result in replenished supplies of aluminium.

Light and Durable

Aluminium has a specific weight of 2.7kg/dm3 which is only one third of the specific weight of steel. The durable lightweight nature of aluminium construction results in better transport economies. The use of aluminium in cars, ships, trains and other vehicles has increased dramatically in recent years. Aluminium is an ideal material for use in the Nordic climate as lower temperatures increase the strength of aluminium.

Resistance to Corrosion

Aluminium is extremely resistant to corrosion. Aluminium products have lower maintenance costs and longer product life cycles. Aluminium products become even more resistant to corrosion with anodising which also gives a better finish.

Environmental friendly

Aluminium is a valuable recyclable metal. ¾ of all aluminium that is recycled is returned for use there recycling of aluminium becomes a national economic resource.
