The Updated EAGLE 75i Bunks Now Come with an Even Stronger Integrated Load Tensioner

The renewed EAGLE 75i steel bunks are lighter and stronger than their predecessors, meeting all regulatory requirements. If desired, this improved model can also be equipped with a built-in pneumatic load tensioner.

The EAGLE 75i bunks have been on the market since 2016, when Alucar launched its new high-strength steel bunk model with detachable stakes. Seven years later, it was time to renew the bunks to meet the changing customer needs.

– Thanks to good optimization, the renewed bunks are lighter than their predecessors and better withstand loads according to the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency, Traficom’s, load-carrying regulations, says product manager Leif Finne.

Integrated Load Tensioner Eases the Driver’s Daily Tasks

– We heard requests from several customers for built-in tensioners, so we decided to develop this solution as part of the model update. The pneumatic tensioner secures the load reliably and effortlessly. Binding the load is easier and safer because the tensioner is integrated and moves with the bunk, even when adjusting the bunk’s position. Additionally, the new tensioner model has a pull length of 450 mm, which is longer than traditional tensioners. As a result, there is no need to adjust the binding during transport, says sales representative Marcus Peth.

The fasteners for the EAGLE 75i bunks are quick to install on different frame widths, with no welding required. The bunks have detachable stakes that can be easily replaced if damaged. The height of the stakes can be chosen in five-centimeter increments.

When buying bunks, delivery time is a crucial selection criterion, and we aim to address this need by manufacturing bunks for stock, says Eastern Finland sales representative Jouko Kainulainen.

– If a stake needs to be replaced, the customer doesn’t need to order an entirely new bunk; we can deliver individual stakes. This way, the customers get their equipment back in service more quickly and cost-effectively. The repair work is also both easier and safer, Jouko notes.

The Bunks Maintain Their Good Appearance for a Long Time

In addition to practicality and durability, Alucar has also focused on appearance when updating the bunks. Customers can choose the colors of the bunk frames and stakes from a wide selection. The range of decals is also extensive, allowing for various color combinations. Thanks to zinc-based paint, the bunk’s coating remains in good condition even in harsh conditions. Customers can also receive lacquering from Alucar if desired.

Customizing the bunks is made easy, including additional accessories.

– During production we prepare the bunks for additional accessories. For example, ready-made attachment points for lifting hooks and triggers are pre-drilled, so there’s no need to add holes separately later, says sales manager Julius Närvä.
